UTSAV Testimonial - Supriya and Aravind

My husband Aravind and I were fortunate enough to attend Amba's prenatal classes right from the beginning. We happened to come across Amba's classes on the Internet while we were looking out for prenatal classes online (http://utsavcelebratewomanhood.blogspot.in/).
We must say that we can vouch for each and every class conducted by Amba. We are really glad that we got know Amba in the early stages of our pregnancy. Right from the foundation class until the infant care class has been a wonderful learning experience.

Foundation class:
I would call it the “Myth-bursting” class. The moment you are pregnant you are overloaded with information by people around you, internet, and other media sources, which can get quite overwhelming. This class is very informative and breaks all the myths that clouds pregnancy. Amba guides your with your diet chart and the “do’s and don’ts” throughout your pregnancy.

Exercise class:
The exercise class gives you a boost in energy. All the exercises and stretches taught in this class has proved helpful so far. I think following these exercises have helped me avoid common pregnancy issues such as lower backache, swollen feet, and cramps to name a few. The exercise review class and the handouts are useful.

Labor class:
From what I've seen and heard, labor “pain” had instilled a fear of pregnancy in me. Attending this class has made me and my partner feel more confident to handle labor when the time comes. Amba ensures that you overcome this fear by explaining that the whole process is a normal process like any other process in our body. She discusses various labor relaxation techniques, how to differentiate between real and false labor, and how to identify emergency situations. Amba encourages you to bring your spouse along to labor class and discusses significance of  a support person being there with you during labor. She discuss how the support person (your partner) can help you with breathing and relaxation techniques and be a great emotional cushion during your labor. The class also includes activities (with your partner’s involvement) to give you a feel of contractions and how breathing techniques can help you deal with it. She also shared links and videos which seem quite useful and informative.

Breastfeeding class:
The videos and in-class demos are quite informative. I will get back how useful it is practically after my delivery (I’m currently 30 wks into pregnancy).

Infant care:
I loved the part where Amba demonstrates how to carry your baby in a sling. It seems quite interesting & ergonomic! She discusses about using nappies v/s diapers, importance of exclusive breastfeeding, recognizing baby cues, baby foods, and baby care.
Amba, thank you for sharing the Facebook links for breastfeeding, cloth diapering, and baby wearing. I am following them and looking forward to put them to use soon J

Last but not the least, I must say the whole ambiance of this class brings in positive vibes and has a very calming effect on you. Thank you Amba, for making us more aware, more confident, and for painting a pretty picture of the whole child-birthing experience in our minds. Can’t wait to put in all the learnings to use.

Continue the awesome job you are doing!

Best wishes,
Supriya & Aravind
